How We Got Started

As the leaves turn and the air chills, the spirit of giving grows stronger—especially at Newviews Connects. This Thanksgiving, we embarked on an ambitious mission: bringing sustenance, joy, and community connection to families across Metro Richmond through our Thanksgiving Blessing Baskets initiative.

This year's unprecedented growth wouldn't have been possible without the dedicated family advocates and social workers who helped us identify families in genuine need.

2023: 10 families served

2024: 50 families served

Growth: 500% increase in community impact

What's Inside a Blessing Basket?

Each Thanksgiving Blessing Basket was carefully curated to provide everything needed for a complete holiday feast. Every family received:

• A 15-pound turkey

• A full complement of traditional Thanksgiving sides
